Legend of Etad: Chapter 3 and Catalog, 9th May

It's been just over a year since I first started working on what would eventually become Legend of Etad. It's been an amazing year, with almost 1500 copies of Etad sold and so many Playdaters telling me how much they enjoyed the game. Now it's time to bring the adventure to an end with a couple of announcements!

Chapter 3: The Swamp of Panic will release on May 9th

That's right, the third and final chapter of Legend of Etad is in the bag, and will release as an update on Itch on May 9th. Chapter 3 brings the adventure to a close with:

  • A new hub area (the swamp), with a sprawling under-swamp dungeon
  • The sewers
  • A timed challenge arena
  • The final boss fight
  • A new spell and a final upgraded shield
  • An actual outro!

The update will see a price increase to $12, so there's still time grab the game at the Chapter 2 sale price.

Legend of Etad will also release on Catalog on May 9th

Now that the game is complete, I'm happy to announce that it will be released on the official Playdate store, Catalog, also on May 9th. New players will be able to Become Legend straight from their Tiny Yellow Machine!

Aside from the convenience of having Etad in your Catalog library, there is no difference between the Itch Chapter 3 update and the Catalog release, so everyone will be able to experience the adventure in full on May 9th!

I am wondering, Is the whole game available for $12 on the catalog or will you need to buy the other chapters like before in Itch?

The version on Catalog is the exact same as on Itch. They're both the complete game with all three chapters.

Haha I realized what I done.  I thought that it was needed to buy each chapter as they released. You deserve the extra  support!

This Game Rocks!

Fantastic! I can't wait. Your game is incredible. I grew up with Dungeon Master (though never got very far, it was very scary for a little boy) so being able to have an experience like that (but far less obtuse) on the playdate is really great.

Awesome. grats on the catalog release as well.
